"Roll up, roll up!"

  • Geoff Brook has kindly created new, safe arrangements to allow Monday and Friday GC Roll ups to happen.  Starts on Monday 17 August and the sessions are Mondays from 1 pm to 4, and Fridays 10am to 1 pm.  Details below.

  • Not more than 12 booked players per session using both lawns and playing one singles and one doubles on each.

  • Games would be timed at 50 minutes allowing for three games in a three-hour session. At time, singles would stop immediately the bell is rung  and secondaries 5 minutes later.

  • Applications by email (preferred), text or phone, to roll up coordinator Geoff Brook at [email protected], or mobile 07580 332319 up to two weeks ahead of a session.

  • The players picked for the first roll-up will be selected from those members applying in the first 12 hours, on a random basis. After the first session, priority will be given to members who have not played before. Thereafter the roll up manager will balance the players picked to ensure as far as possible an equal opportunity for all, but always prioritising any member who has not previously played in the roll-up.

  • Members will be informed as soon as they are picked. If there is any change in availability, please inform the coordinator ASAP. On arrival the players will be given their order of play for the first game and, as the session proceeds, will be allocated a different lawn, ball colour, and doubles/singles game on a pre-set format. All players should arrive 10/15 minutes before start time to help set and get in position ready to play on time.

  • Social distancing and all the current guidance will be in force.

The Recreation Ground is on the A404.  If approaching from the north, travel 400m south from the Hazlemere double roundabout, slow down at Holy Trinity Church on your left and look for a small road on your right with Croquet Club and Recreation Ground signs. Coming from the south (High Wycombe) direction, we are about a kilometre north of the Royal Grammar School.
