More on the Annual Dinner

24/4/2023

What a wonderful evening we had on 14th April celebrating our Club and our achievements. 39 of us gathered at the Potters Arms where our new Chairman moulded (pottery pun intended!) a wonderful event of quizzes, prize giving and reporting as he started to outline his vision for our thriving Club going forward.

The Potters Arms wheeled out (groan) a super meal and the informality of the venue set up a super atmosphere. Trophies were given, announcements made, silly pub quizzes played - a notable quiz moment was when a close up of Keith Toovey in his hat was cheekily slipped into a Who Am I round of famous people. It threw most teams, but not one - who were certain he was the great Sir Donald Bradman. Well there we are, cricket icon turned croquet legend!

Some took their trophies in style, others tried to avoid the paparazzi.  Style moment of the evening belonged to outgoing (in every sense of the word!) Chairman Richard modelling the literally heavenly leisurewear two-piece suit presented him in recognition of all his fantastic work as Chairman.

Nigel's first event as our new Chairman was an undoubted success.  What a great club.
