Martin joins the tournament team

Today's Winter Tuesday Handicap tournament was managed by Martin Dock, his first in the driving seat.  He did well, including coping with a modicum of backseat driving from Chris Webbley.  ("Helping is what I call it," says Chris).

In what has become a comfortable rhythm, eight people played five games using the Advantage GC format.  It was good to welcome players from three clubs other than HWCC.  A special commendation must go to Ian Norris (-2) who with great good humour coped with a six hoop starting gap for almost all of his games.  And half the games in the last two rounds went to 7-6, which made for a quietly exciting afternoon. 

Congratulations to Geoff Brook who took first prize in the final against Don Rutherford.   Thankyous to everyone who took part and helped clear the lawns at the end of the day.   And well done, Martin: a 7 am arrival shows first class commitment to helping people have a well-organised day.
