The Club is about to launch a new form of competition for 2023 – the HWCC Challenge. Complementing the centrally-organised EV series of internal matches, the Challenge will enable any member to invite another for a competitive, 13 point singles game at any time. Level play or Advantage GC. The result of each game will be eligible to be recorded on your handicap card, in this way differing from a friendly.
There will be two groupings – for players with handicap of 5 or lower and for those with handicap of 6 and higher. Any player whose handicap moves across the threshold simply switches to the other competition. All the rules to ensure that these qualify as competitive matches will be set out in guidance in the clubhouse shortly. There you will also find where to sign up to join in, and the results sheet for each game. Remember also to record the result and any index points exchanged on your handicap card. At the end of September, the Challenge will close and results will be announced. This is a trial season and will be reviewed, including inviting player feedback.
