A riverside romp for HWCC

Ooops...
....we weren't supposed to win this one either! 

Phyllis Court turned up with better handicaps and a confident stride, but were driven back by a mighty onslaught, led from the front by Kay and Marc A - with Sharon's firm captaincy and a bit part from Mark H in support. 

Kay swept to 2-0 victories in both her matches and in doing so, reduced her handicap to 6. Congratulations Kay - and take note players in the Club's handicap tournament!!

And who else but Marc could rouse himself from a 1 - 6 deficit, staring down the barrel of defeat, to smash home the Golden Hoop; and in doing so bring home both his matches.

Phyllis Court imploded at 5-2 down, agreed to abandon the last game as a draw, and returned to their riverside setting as we respectfully celebrated a 5.5 - 2 5 victory.

(Oh, yes, this was a Southern Croquet Federation Golf Croquet B level league match, for those interested.)
