We have received this thankyou letter and certificate acknowledging the amazing support given to Wycombe Homeless Connection via the 24-Hour Croquet Marathon and asking us to publicise it to members.
Dear Mr Pepperell,
Thank you so much for the generous donation of £1858.50. Thank you for choosing Wycombe Homeless Connection as your charity to support as part of The Big Knock.
Because of you, we are able to keep helping people in our community who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We are currently caring for over 40 people living in emergency accommodation who otherwise would be sleeping on the streets, helping them with everyday items like food and clothing, as well as working with them to find more secure, longer-term accommodation.
Our homelessness prevention hotline for people who are worried about losing their home is busy; we are receiving frequent requests for help from people who are ‘sofa-surfing’ or worried about keeping up with their rent. We are working to prevent more people becoming homeless every day.
And our Homeless Health project is in great demand. We work with people to make sure they are registered with a GP so they can get the healthcare they need, and vitally, are able to have the coronavirus vaccination.
People in our community are facing challenges that mean our services will be needed for the long term. So, thank you very much for your gift. You are the reason people are able to get the help they need at this very difficult time.
Yours sincerely, James Boultbee, Chief Executive Officer
Well done, everyone, in support of such a good local cause. Not forgetting the similar sum raised for club funds, of course.
