Our Autumn Tournaments are under way!

A visitor playing today asked how many tournaments we run in the autumn and winter. They were very impressed to learn that the club offers nearly twenty days of friendly competition during what is often considered an off-season.  

And everything started this week with the first two: an Advantage GC day and a Level 5+ handicap.  People from several clubs took part, with some very close games including one of the two finals decided on the 13th hoop.  

People's commitment was also reflected in the teamwork that supported the AGC event, when injury meant that tournament manager Richard Peperell could sadly not attend.  So special thanks go to the people who helped get the show on the road and keep it running, especially Brian Jamieson and Nigel Moore.

More teamwork was in evidence at the 5+ event, where Kenny Weir joined the tournament management team.  Thank you, Kenny, for this commitment.

So, twenty events...two this week...sixteen players...but only one winner!  Nigel Clogg kept his cool for both days and took home two bottles of bubbly as well deserved prizes.  

Well done, everyone.  The show has started!
