Kites get winning

On 5 June,  HW Kites secured their first win of the season.  Playing Eynsham in the SCF Advantage GC League, our team of Ron Carter, Keith Toovey, Kenny Weir and Barry Stanton were up against a well-balanced side.  Ron and Keith, low-handicappers both, faced some daunting starting scores -- minus 4 or 3 to plus 2, anyone?! -- but still managed to secure three vital wins during the day.  Barry halved his four games, starting with a magnificent 7-0 opener against Eynsham' No 1 player.  And Kenny Weir played consistently well throughout to win all four of his games with a fine net hoops tally of +13.  Remember that this is Barry and Kenny's first season of SCF League competitions, too.

The final result was a 9-7 win for HW Kites.  Congratulations to them.
